It’s also called theft or stealing!

Companies come and they go and often while they are still around we often see what they are up to. One of the many curious things that often happens with some companies is they go out and copy the artwork of other companies and then pawn it off as their own, profiting from their use  and not asking for permission to use the copyrighted artwork in the first place.

These companies do what is often referred to as cheating and not-competing. Sometimes its because they don’t have an art department, don’t want to pay an artist or both. In their mind its easier to copy then it is is to originate. Cause lets face it, let’s not have fun and be creative. Instead let’s copy someone else cause, well ya know, its easier and maybe they think they can get away with it. Until now.

So as we travel down memory lane we will post up many of the Vision-Strike-Wear.Com designs that have been copied by other companies because, gee wiz, its fun to show the military community the difference between a copy cat ass hat and the designs that were created from scratch. Scratch is better.

Military Patches

The Jolly Roger (Unauthorized)

This little doozie was the unauthorized use of Vision-Strike-Wear.Com’s LLC federally licensed Jolly Roger design. Popularpatch.Com decided to produce this patch and display it on their website for sale, on blogs as seen below this  image and the funny thing is they did it all without the permission of Vision-Strike-Wear.Com. I guess they thought it was a cool design and wanted to take it home with them. Trouble is they didn’t ask.

US Navy Snipe Patch (unauthorized)

Here boys and girls we find another design of Vision-Strike-Wear.Com LLC copied and reproduced as an unauthorized patch by Popularpatch.Com. Must have been a terribly popular patch to have been copied without permission but we digress. Funny thing about this design is that it features Popeye with whom Vision-Strike-Wear.Com LLC has a license to produce but seemingly Popularpatch.Com does not.

Challenge Coins

Corpsman Up (unauthorized)

This military coin gem was produced by Kidder Corps. Only problem is they didn;t have permission to use this design that is also a federally registered copyright. Someone at the US Navy brought it to them and lo and behold they just went ahead and made it.  Trouble is they didn’t have authorization to do so and thus another bastard coin was created. Harsh we agree but then again is copying the art of someone else without first asking. Some kids never learn. Who are they kidding?

Get the Authorized Corpsman Coin!

And in case that wasn’t bad enough a whole slew of other Vision-Strike-Wear.Com LLC designs were also produced by Kidder Corps without the permission of Vision-Strike-Wear.Com. LLC. One might think it a simple mistake of not knowing it was this person or that person’s design but when its done time after time after time its no longer perceived as a simple mistake. It is perceived as stealing.

Once. Twice. Three times a Copy!

Now for our first in the lineup with let’s play what has been copied today!

The original art of Vision-Strike-Wear.Com LLC was copied and used by Kidder Corp without permission. The federally registered Navy Goat design created originally for the crew of the USS Louisville was then taken and reproduced and sold to a variety of US Navy commands by Kidder Corp without permission. Lets take a look down memory lane as we display the unauthorized art.

Note the horseshoes which were part of the original USS Louisville design created by Vision-Strike-Wear.Com LLC. One might even ask the question why a Misawa Japan CPO mess would want horseshoes on their mess coins: Answer. Who knows because its a copy and no one stopped to probably ask the question.

Next up on the hit parade is the next installment of the VSW goat design produced yet again by Kidder without permision.

Film and Hollywood

Even Universal Studio used patches Frost Call created for the Al Qaeda and Taliban Hunting clubs which were used 33 seconds into trailer to sell the “Lone Survivor” movie written and directed by Peter Berg and starring Mark Wahlberg.  The story is about the doomed US Navy Seal team survived only by Marcus Luttrell on a mission to capture or kill notorious Taliban leader Ahmad Shah. Over 13.6 million viewers on Youtube were enticed to see this film using our designs and to this day have not received a royalty from the $149,095,601* in sales, much less a thank you or credit.  Universal Studios while claiming to support the US Military with these features only to ignore the laws in which they fight for is hypocrisy at its best.  Not to mention stealing from a small business truly supporting and not exploiting the military. Who ever said Hollywood was full of honest hard working folks.  On the contrary they steal and use and abuse all the laws simply because they have more lawyers and deeper pocket books.
