Well they have put out a report on how to keep your kids safe during Halloween and we think the level of common senses well makes common sense. The following list is is their and our list for experiencing a safe Halloween this year!

Going trick-or-treating?

1. Keep your swords, knives, and other costume accessories soft, short and very flexible.

2. Don’t trick or treat alone! Walk with trusted adults, neighbors, family members and friends. Don’t go alone!

3. Make yourself easy to see. Use reflective tape and be seen. Make it easy for automobiles and moving vehicles to see you.

4. Look for tampering on treats and candy. Examine and make sure nothing has been tampered with or opened.

5. Take a flashlight. Be seen and make it easy for others to see you. Walk from house to house. Do not run.

6. Test your make up in a smal area of your skin first before applying it all over. Make sure no reactions occur. Also remove all make-up before you go to bed.

7. Use established cross walks and always look both ways before crossing the street. Avoid streets with a lot of traffic or vehicilar activity.

8. Reduce eye injury by not wearing decorative contact lenses.

9. Use sidewalks and always walk toward oncoming cars so they can see you and you them.

10. Avoid eating homemade treats and especially ones given out by strangers. Eat factory wrapped candies only.
